Synopsis
As renowned scientist Charles Darwin (Paul Bettany) struggles to accept his young daughter's death, he finds himself torn between his love for his god-fearing wife (Jennifer Connelly) and his growing belief in a world that is its own perpetual creation. Directed by Jon Amiel, written by John Colley, and based upon the book by Darwin's great-great-grandson, Randal Keynes, this is the deeply human story of the evolution of Darwin's masterwork, of a passionate marriage torn apart by the most provocative idea in history, and of a tortured genius saved by the love of a child.
