Synopsis from IFC Center
Experimental, self-taught animator Brent Green's otherworldly, handmade and utterly unique shorts are now joined by his first feature, a film no less singular. The true story of a man who built a house to heal his wife, GRAVITY uses live actors and wooden characters shot in stop-motion, frame by meticulous frame, on a fantastical set hammered together out of scrap wood on Green's family farm.
Brent Green's work is on view in a solo exhibition by the same title at Andrew Edlin Gallery April 17 through June 5. His short film Paulina Hollers screens at MoMA with a live performance by the artist and Brendan Canty (Fugazi) on May 6 & 8.
