Short Synopsis

ELEKTRA LUXX follows its title character (Carla Gugino, WATCHMEN) through one chaotic day as the recently retired porn superstar tries to make it in the straight world. Flight attendants, jilted fiancees, mysterious detectives, best-selling authors and even the Virgin Mary all make appearances as Elektra tries to come to terms with impending motherhood and her split from the porn world. From writer/director Sebastian Gutierrez comes a comedy featuring an all-star cast, including Timothy Olyphant ("Deadwood"), Malin Akerman (WATCHMEN), Joseph Gordon-Levitt ((500) DAYS OF SUMMER), Kathleen Quinlan (APOLLO 13), Emmanuelle Chriqui ("Entourage"), Justin Kirk ("Weeds"), and Adrianne Palicki (new "Wonder Woman," "Friday Night Lights").

Synopsis

After learning she is pregnant with the child of recently deceased rock star Nick Chapel, porn star Elektra Luxx (Gugino) has retired from the adult-film industry and is busy trying to reinvent herself as a sex-education instructor at her local community center, where she teaches a class called "How to Act Like a Porn Star in Bed" to clueless L.A. housewives. When guilt-ridden flight attendant Cora (Marley Shelton) pops up carting the lyrics to Nick's unreleased final record, a suite of love songs to Elektra, she's delighted to accept them. In exchange for the purloined documents, though, Cora needs Elektra to do her a rather risque favor, and after a few too many martinis, gathers up the courage to ask if the porn star will seduce her fiancee. Meanwhile, Bert Rodriguez (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), an absurdly sincere sex blogger obsessed with all things Elektra, and Holly Rocket (Adrianne Palicki), a linguistically challenged adult-film starlet, both try to negotiate love in the real world--he with Trixie (Malin Akerman), a smitten friend of his equally internet-obsessed sister, Madeline (Amy Rosoff), and she on a getaway trip to Mexico with sexy, pragmatic gal pal Bambi (Emmanuelle Chriqui).

As Bert and Holly cope with personal issues and varying shades of lovesickness, a case of mistaken identity sets in motion a series of hilarious events which will see Elektra come face to face with a hunky private detective, over-eager porn aficionados, a bestselling author, and the Blessed Virgin Mary herself as she wrestles with the prospect of motherhood and tries to become what she always longed to be: a person of substance. Set (mostly) in modern Los Angeles over the course of a single madcap day, ELEKTRA LUXX is a high-heeled romantic comedy about sex, love, voyeurism, self-definition, and not-so-dumb blonde ambition.
