About the Cast
Trae Ireland (James Cleaver Jr.)
Trae Ireland's career in entertainment began in front of the camera. Upon arriving in Los Angeles from Chicago, Illinois, Trae immediately became immersed into the television realm, being cast in the sitcom "Moesha". Following his stint on Moesha, Trae landed roles on Emmy award winning shows, "Once and Again" as well as "JAG", which led to being cast in the films, Coach Carter, The Comebacks and Breaking All The Rules where he met CEO Clint Culpepper of Sony Screen Gems. Trae expressed to Mr. Culpepper his passion for film as an Actor/Producer, and after 3 years of Screen Gems tutelage; Trae was given his shot to Co-Produce the hit comedy "First Sunday" starring "Ice Cube, Tracy Morgan, and Katt Williams. Trae has had the opportunity produce and work with some of the entertainment industry's elite. Laurence Fishburne, Jamie Foxx, Martin Lawerence, Chris Rock, Jean Reno, Matt Dillion, Zoe Saldana to name a few. Currently Trae has a recurring role on the Martin Lawrence Executive Produced show, "Love that Girl" playing opposite Tatyana Ali as her step-brother. On the flip side of the camera; Trae is in Pre-production on 2 television shows and developing 2 feature films at Sony Screen Gems for the 2013 slate.
Efe (Bertha "Grandma" Cleaver)
Efe (E-fay) found the joy of acting as a retiree - having had a career as a concert modern dancer and arts administrator. The past few years she has enjoyed the challenge and exhilaration of TV, movies and theatre. She thanks H.M. for giving her the opportunity to breathe life into 80 year old Grandma Bertha!.
Tamara Goodwin (Khadijah Cleaver)
Born in Austin, Texas to an African American father and Belizean mother, Tamara Goodwin has developed a rich heritage evolving around education, culture and the arts. After graduating Who's Who among High school students at James Bowie High school in Austin Texas, she received a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, and then later received her Master's degree in Business Administration from Texas Woman's University. Although she had been involved in theater at a young age, it was here in college where Tamara developed a strong passion for the arts. She is a multi-talented individual with notable experience in acting, modeling, writing, directing and producing.
Dylan Synclaire (Harry Cleaver)
As a Kansas City native, Recording Artist/Song Writer/Actor and CEO of Trak 3 Music Dylan Synclaire has been creating major buzz internationally since landing a development deal with the acclaimed Westlake Recording studios. The buzz has only continued to grow, following the release of his "S.O.S." Sounds of Synclaire EP, and the hit Single "Hollywood Lyfe" featuring Chis Rene. Dylan's talents have been featured on a multitude of music websites and blogs throughout the internet, in addition to being requested by companies such as The Million Puppet March, COCA COLA and NBC Universal/Curves Films for music placement. In "CLEAVER FAMILY REUNION" Dylan displays his talents both on screen and off playing the role of "Harry" and assisting with the music scoring and film soundtrack while working on his next musical offering which is slated to be released Spring of 2013.
Justine Harron (Sun Shine)
Justine's acting career started at a very young age in a small, country town in Michigan called Mattawan (Kalamazoo area.... yes there really is a Kalamazoo). Participating in musicals, choir and dance. Her love for performing ran deep. She got her first shot in front of the camera and off the stage, in college at the University of Michigan where she landed the lead role in a short film. From that point on, she knew she would further her film career in Los Angeles. When she got a call to come in and read for "Cleaver Family Reunion" she jumped at the opportunity and landed her first big role in the City of Angels! Justine has many more projects in the works and feels honored to have been involved with such a great project with an amazing creator, cast and crew..
About the Filmmakers
H.M. Coakley (Writer/Director)
After many years as an independent film producer and producer of music videos and commercials, H. M. Coakley made his feature directorial debut in 2007 with the horror-comedy HOLLA. HOLLA was later acquired by Lionsgate Films, became one of their top selling urban horror titles. He's also coming off a successful festival run with his award winning comedy short THE SLAP which is still running on funnyordie.com. As a producer, Coakley produced the acclaimed independent films TEN BENNY and RESTAURANT which helped to launched the careers of Academy Award winner Adrien Brody and Emmy Winner Simon Baker. TEN BENNY, which was Coakley's MFA thesis film, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and both films have garnered rave reviews. He recently completed HOLLA II, the sequel to HOLLA, as well as the urban comedy, CLEAVER FAMILY REUNION for The Asylum. Coakley was tapped by the partners of The Asylum to write and direct their first urban film after producing over 100 films. Both CLEAVER FAMILY REUNION and HOLLA II will be released in theaters this spring. H. M. Coakley is a magna cum-laude graduate from Howard University with a B.S. degree in Physics and an honors graduate of Columbia University School of the Arts with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Screenwriting.
David Michael Latt (Producer, The Asylum)
David Latt is responsible for production and marketing. As a filmmaker, he has won over two dozen awards for his directorial and promotional work, and is a guest lecturer at festivals and industry events world-wide.
David Rimawi (Executive Producer, The Asylum)
In addition to handling worldwide sales and distribution, David Rimawi has acted as executive producer, supervised post production, and developed the home entertainment marketing campaign for each of The Asylum releases.
Paul Bales (Co-Producer, The Asylum)
The newest Partner at The Asylum, Paul Bales handles the day-to-day operations of the company, administration and finance, and domestic sales.
Alexander Yellen (Cinematographer)
Alexander Yellen was born and raised in Washington DC where he took up still photography at an early age then made the jump to motion pictures at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, where he earned a BA in film studies. He currently resides in Los Angeles and has served as director of photography on over 30 feature films in a variety of genres and styles as well as on numerous other television programs, short films, and music videos shot all across the US and around the world.
